Runnin' with Jenn

Thanks to the great support of The Triple Crown Casinos of Cripple Creek Colorado I am able to be traveling quite a bit this year. Noble Genetics and the A. I. business stays on the forefront of my priorities during breeding season. I will try to keep an update of my travels and schedule along with results. Thanks to the support of the Casino's we will make an honest effort to get as far as possible in 2006. Every pro barrels racers dream includes the Wrangler NFR, we will see if Bogie and I can make dreams come true this year!!!

Here's a link to the Casino's Website. They are great fun and entertainment if you are looking for a relaxing getaway in the beautiful Colorado Rocky Mountains. www.triplecrowncasinos.com

Not sure where to even start but I needed to thank so many of the wonderful people during our tragic loss at the rodeo in Denver on Sunday. Masked Miracle, whom we knew and loved as Major, blew his hip joint up while turning first barrel in the afternoon performance Sunday in Denver. He fractured his pelvis and shattered his hip joint,  consequently we lost him. For those of you that know us you know that my family cherished this horse, from my daughter Laramie(8) who shared him with me to my husband and my daughter Paige! We got Major out of the arena and were immediately surrounded by a gift from God. People everywhere helping us and praying. From the amazing barrel racing family offering horse upon horse for me to run that night! To those women who stopped what they where doing to pray with my baby girl over her fears. Tana, you are truly a God send. Lori Sutton, Annie Campbell, Kelly, your offers where so gracious, Thank you! But I just really needed to stay with my horse and my family. Layna, thank you! Thank you to the countless barrel racers, workers, family, friends and strangers! I am sure I would have collapsed without all of you! To Karen Unger at Littleton Large Animal, you were incredible. Thank you for your immediate love of Major and keeping his comfort in mind! You were amazing. Also, Thank you so much to all of you whom sent cards, notes and calls, your support was overwhelming. We are convinced that Major is in heaven with our Granny!! She never got to ride a great barrel horse and we know she is today! Major allowed me to reach the dream of winning my WPRA card, carried my daughter to winning her first buckles and teaching her to ride a really good barrel horse and made his mark on our lives forever. He will be sorely missed and is proving to be nearly impossible to replace. Like I have said to so many people in the last few weeks, I stand firm in my belief that God has a plan for us and that the logical side of my brain says there is nothing I could have done to change anything but it does not stop the tears!! Thank you everyone again and God Bless each and everyone that was with us or praying for us!!

February 22,2006

God is good! That is my thought for the day!! It has been a really great couple of weeks for us. Bogie is back and seems to be recovered 100% from his back issues. AND we purchased our newest asset, NEW APACHE ROSE!! We are really excited about "Apache". We can not say she is a replacement for Major because he was not replaceable. She is just an addition to our lives.  She is really progressing nicely and really wants to please. Adam has entered a few roping's on her since we got her & she has really been working nice. Her foundation is really strong and I am just taking her forward with a few different things that I would like to her to have before we enter her.

This winter has been a challenge for me. God has opened my eyes to a number of things! I believe firmly that all things happen for a reason and in his time not mine. I love my horses so much and the lessons learned have been struggles but I have learned a lot! I am so excited for this year!! Our business is also starting to really get rolling so things are hopping here as usual. I look forward to getting on the road again and riding good horses!! I am looking forward to the Nevada rodeos and hoping for great things to come!

Racing in the Rockies put another great race weekend together allowing Bogie to work his magic. Here is an excerpt from their most recent press release;

Jennifer Noble, sponsored by Triple Crown Casinos in  Cripple Creek, CO proved that entering barrel races on Thanksgiving weekend wasn't much of a gamble for her.  Noble made it seem winning was almost a sure thing.  Noble, aboard the sorrel AQHA gelding Bogus Effort swept the weekend's event winning both days' Open 1D, both days' WPRA Divisional Tour race as well as the Open 1D average.  Her fast and consistent times set the pace for the weekend and gave all other competitors something to shoot for.
The Colorado cowgirl didn't let the snowy forecast chill her  enthusiasm any.  Noble heated things up in the arena with  scorching times of 14.756 and 14.623 to take home a toasty sum of $742.08 for less than 30 seconds worth of work.  A Tahitian Noni Juice distributor Noble credits much of her success to the "secret formula" of Tahitian Noni's Equine Essentials."

Laramie also won her first check on Noble's Joe, the six year old gelding Adam broke and I put on the barrel pattern. We are awfully proud of her and look for great things to come.

January 26,2005; WOWWWWW!!!! Denver's rodeo was great fun!! We started the week off with scary roads and slid the truck around a bit in Glenwood Canyon but got to Greeley that night without any real incidents. We decided to leave Wednesday to take Bogie to a small jackpot since he had not seen a barrel really since November.  He worked "ok" and won the barrel race. We went into Denver knowing that it should be a great situation for him and that it was!! The first round we were first out and ran a 15.19, I was very pleased but knew there was room for improvement due to the position of the 2nd barrel being up the arena quite a bit from what is normal. He came back that night and ran in 10th position on the ground. Ran the fast time of the performance with a 15.16.  We left Denver 2nd in the average and headed for Fort Worth. Adam and Paige were both extremely sick so it made for a rough road trip, one of those trips that is definitely a trial.  The run in Fort Worth was uneventful, not one of his fastest but ok.. We will just hope for a smoking fast run in the 2nd round on February 6th. We were up in Fort Worth on Friday night and needed to be back in Denver Saturday night for a nights rest and preparation for the Finals on Sunday.  As we got closer to getting back to Denver we learned I had been moved down in the average and was going into the finals splitting 7th with Sheri Cervi.. I worked him in the arena Sunday morning and he felt good, worked good and I was confident going into the finals. What an impressive group of ladies in Sundays finals. To the best of my knowledge there were 4 of us in the finals that have not qualified for the National Finals and 2 of the 4 where riding horses that have had much success in the Thomas and Mack. We drew last on the ground but was not worried as the ground had been holding really well. Bogie ran a beautiful pattern but just did not fire. His time was the fastest he had run yet with a 15.09 but I had to ask him for every step which is not like him. I believe the Fort Worth trip might have been a bit much for him. I am assuming he will adjust and we are making some changes like adding magnet blanket and a few other suggestions by Con Kemple of Winners Choice Vitamins,  to hopefully ease the road stress. We ended up 8th in the average which made me extremely proud of his consistency.

We leave Saturday to head for San Antonio and the Texas building rodeos. First and foremost we are going to concentrate and keeping Bogie rested and wise travel plans. Keep checking back as we will be updating with news frequently.

Oh, one more thing, Thanks so much to all of you well wishers. My phone had numerous messages from people cheering me on going into the Short go and after. Your support is uplifting. Thank you and God Bless.
March 3, 2005  I have not taken the time to update the website due to numerous computer issues but we are up and going again now. The Texas rodeos went up and down. The first round at San Antonio was great, I was first gunner and held the lead until about 55 girls had run. I ended up splitting 15th 3 ways with some extremely tough competition from Denise Adams Fea and Kay Blanford. I was extremely proud of Bogie and looked on to the next run. A couple of runs on bad ground including El Paso and a fall at Belton where frustrating but I was determined not to let issues get me down. I headed for San Angelo and ended up splitting 13th with another great runner Melanie Southard. From there things got frustrating. I was up at San Antonio a week later and felt like something was just not right with Bogie but not sure what. At San Antonio he completely panicked in the tunnel and just did not work. I spent the next week trying to calm him down and he went on to the second round at San Angelo and did the same panic type thing. Grandma and I left San Angelo frustrated, worried and tired. A couple phone calls later we were scheduled to visit with the great vets at Timber Creek in Amarillo. Dr. Greg looked over Bogie and reassured us that he needed his hocks injected and we would be good to go. We will see how it goes and hope that the hocks were sore and all issues are behind us.

March 7,2005  Well, I now believe the hocks were this issue. Bogie and I are now the arena record holders at the Old Spanish Trail Arena in Moab Utah with a great run of 14.414. Fierce competition by Ann Dee Adams of Utah made us jump up and work for it though I must say. The ground even felt deep and slow to me so I was proud of Bogie. He stayed chilled out all weekend and worked just like he is supposed to.

March 22, 2005 After a month at home I am ready to go again. Bogie has had a great rest and I have caught up the taxes and book work so it is safe to head out again. Paige is going with me this month so I look forward to her company. We leave for the Tour Rodeo's in Laughlin and Logandale Nevada and will see how things progress from there.

April 19, 2005 I am taking a brief break from office work to check in. Breeding season is in full swing and the phone has not stopped since 6:30 this morning. Neither Adam or I are much indoor people so we are both ready to be out for the afternoon but it does not look like we will get to until chore time.  Bogie and I snuck away last week to spend the week with Neil and Barbara Merrill. For those of you that don't know them they are truly incredible people. I cherish the opportunity to learn in a sport where if you don't you fall behind. Bogie responded really well to their program and we had a lot of fun. Salina Utah was the host of the XBA race this weekend and Bogie continued to work his magic indoors; winning the jackpot with 182+- entries Friday night, 3rd of 300+ Sat and 2nd of 300+ Sunday. That left us 2nd in the average behind the ever talented AnnDee Adams and her great little horse Tink. Kuddos to that young team for their success. The ground was deep and slow but worked out well for us.

Some great news for us, we have been added to the Cellarator team of endorsers. All of my horses seem to be responding well to this great feed supplement and we look forward to helping promote it. Between that and the Noni Equine Essentials I think Bogie feels better than he ever has.

May 9, 2005  Well, It was an interesting weekend to say the least. Stress at the rodeo got the best of Bogie at Canon Cities rodeo on Friday night BUT he came back and worked awesome at the Rocky Mountain Super Race in Colorado Springs on Saturday and Sunday. 2nd out of 198 on Saturday and 4th on Sunday. The ground did not want to hold him on Sunday on his 3rd barrel but he is finally starting to show us he is thinking. The ground caused him to slide pretty good and he just sat still and waited until everything came back together and finished a great run. We are really glad to see that he is learning to protect himself when needed. My thought for the day after a really great weekend traveling with Rhona Christiansen is this " Travel with people who accept and bring out your best and still support your worst." Thanks Rhona!! You are truly a gracious and talented individual.

This weekend will take us to the American West Regional in Farmington Utah(back inside) I will keep you posted next week. Thanks for checking in.

Until next time, God Bless and ride right, ride smart, right often & ride hard.

August 21, 2005

So, it has been a long summer or a very fast summer, it depends on when you ask. The days and runs have flown by. We have had some soundness issues with Bogie. Finally it feels like we have things under control due to the highly competent skills of Dr. Wade Shoemaker. We will start out again this week heading to the XBA in Salina and see if we can get Bogies confidence back and show him things are ok again. OK, I have to be the proud mom now. Paige and Laramie had a kids rodeo in Collbran CO this weekend and Paige won the PeeWee all around Buckle. She won first in the barrels, goats, and mutton busting. That coupled with a 2nd in the poles had her winning the all around quite handily. She is very proud of her new buckle. Laramie is doing us proud as well as she is now riding Major. She won the barrels on him. She also was 2nd in the goat tying so she had a very successful weekend as well. Adam had a chance to rope this weekend too and had made a couple of really nice runs including a 5.1 in the first round that we thought sure would be the fast time but ended up 3rd in the round. Man it is tough when it takes a long 4 to win a round at a jackpot.

God Bless and I will check back after Salina.

December 2, 2005

Well this year has been such a blessing. It has been full of great learning experiences and much success. The day to day trials only make us stronger and remind us that what we are doing requires hard work and perseverance to succeed. We are off to Moab for one of the Great Racing in the Rockies weekends. Laramie is entered on Major & Bogie and I are entered also. We look for it to be a very success filled trip.

God Bless and please keep in mind the Reason for the Season. Happy Holidays and a Christ filled month to you all!
